Later, while exploring Victoria’s Inner Harbour, you'll notice Vancouver Island’s pleasing atmosphere, and Victoria’s quaint charm. Overnight in Victoria.

Day 3 Victoria Whalewatching

In the morning, leave from Victoria harbour to journey on a three-hour whale watching excursion. This coastal excursion is an exhilarating round trip of 50 to 80 kilometres in search of orcas, minke whales, grey whales, porpoises, harbour seals and other marine wildlife. You will ride aboard a 14 metre ocean cruiser or a custom-built Zodiac boat that offers high speed with extraordinary stability giving you an exhilarating, safe and intimate whale watching experience. Comments by a certified marine biologist and naturalist are provided. Full-length cruiser suits are provided on the zodiac boats. Guests who prefer, may opt for a larger, covered boat. Please let us know at time of booking. After that, enjoy an afternoon of free time in Victoria. Perhaps you’d like to book afternoon high tea at the Empress? Overnight in Victoria.

Day 4 Victoria to Port Hardy

Your journey today takes you by mini bus from the southern capital city of Victoria to the northern tip of Vancouver Island. A memorable trip! Overnight in Port Hardy.

Day 5 Port Hardy to Prince Rupert

Departing Prince Hardy, you will travel the awe-inspiring Inside Passage aboard BC Ferries. On this 15-hour journey you will travel past calm inlets, evergreen covered islands and near majestic coastal mountains. A day cabin is provided for you on board the ferry. Overnight in Prince Rupert.

Day 6 Prince Rupert

Enjoy a free day in Prince Rupert. There are many activities to choose from such as float plane tours, boat excursions, fishing charters or simply spend the day hiking and exploring this vibrant community. Overnight in Prince Rupert.

Day 7 Prince Rupert to Prince George

Ride VIA Rail’s two day Skeena train across Northern British Columbia from Prince Rupert on the wild west coast to Jasper, in the heart of the Canadian Rockies. En route you will pass through small communities that are rich in native history and culture and view spectacular lakes and forests. Overnight in Prince George.

Day 8 Prince George to Jasper

Continue aboard VIA Rail’s Skeena train towards Jasper. A highlight of today’s journey will be passing by Mount Robson, the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies at 3,954 metres (12,972 feet). Trace the mighty Fraser River from the heart of BC’s interior to it's headwaters in the Rockies. Overnight in Jasper.

Day 9 Jasper to Banff

You’ll journey south along the Icefields Parkway, hailed as one of the most scenic drives in the world. Towering, snow-packed peaks accented with tumbling streams and thick green forests frame both sides of the route. Along the way you’ll board a specially designed Ice Explorer bus and venture onto the Athabasca Glacier, one of the six “principal toes” of the Columbia Icefield. Your tour will then continue south to Banff, one of Canada’s premier mountain resorts.

Day 10 Banff Sightseeing

Take a 4.5 hour guided bus tour (with pickup at 8:00am) through the towering mountains of Rundle, Tunnel, Cascade, and Norquay and learn about the natural attractions of the wind-shaped hoodoos. Be aware of the Surprise Corner along Tunnel Mountain Drive! Experience a gentle ride to the summit of Sulphur Mountain taking 8 minutes in a four-person fully enclosed gondola. A spectacular view and picture taking opportunity wait at the top of this 360 degree panorama of the Bow Valley. Learn all about how these majestic mountains have shaped this unique community. Spend the rest of the afternoon exploring Banff on your own. You may enjoy walking on the local trails, playing golf at The Fairmont Banff Springs, or having extra leisure time in your hotel.

Day 11 Banff to Kamloops

You’ll continue your rail tour west aboard a Rocky Mountaineer train. From Banff you’ll ascend into the Canadian Rockies, passing through the Spiral Tunnels, Glacier National Park and Craigellachie, the famous site where the last spike for the Canadian Pacific Railway was driven. Upon crossing the Continental Divide you’ll enter British Columbia. The mountains will begin giving way to sprawling ranchlands and hilly, brown terrain before reaching Kamloops.

Day 12 Kamloops to Vancouver

The Rocky Mountaineer follows the Thompson River out of Kamloops before bending south. The scenery turns mountainous again as the train descends into the scenic Fraser River Valley. Hells Gate, a narrow canyon only 34 meters wide, highlights this portion the trip. You’ll arrive in Vancouver in the late afternoon, giving you plenty of time to explore Canada’s third largest city. In the evening you may want to explore Stanley Park, Gastown, Granville Island, English Bay Beach, Chinatown and the Robson Street Shopping District at your own pace.

Day 13 Vancouver

Your tour ends upon checking out of your Vancouver hotel.
